Upcycling

Pink Rooster’s up-cycling project uses donated items of fabric, end of use clothing and other materials, turning them into useable items such as tote bags, scarves, door stops for example.

Our make and donate programme of workshops gives people the opportunity to learn new skills, enjoy social connections and also donate made items to homeless charities, food-banks. Participants also get to make and item for themselves to take away. We will encourage local community groups to get involved in making the items and also run workshops within our creative space where up-cycled items can be made.

Materials leftover from up-cycling activities will go to our arts projects for use in collage and other creative workshops.

We also provide fashion and design experience for young people who would not otherwise have the opportunity to develop a portfolio to present to colleges to gain entry to fashion courses, culminating in fashion shows with the emphasis on up-cycling, recycling and environmental sustainability.
